29 марта 2018 г. в рамках проекта «Развитие иноязычной компетенции студентов ТГУ» состоялся мастер-класс аспирантки ИПМК Догадовой Татьяны. Выпускница ИПМК рассказала ребятам о своей научной работе «Адаптивно-оптимальное прогнозирование динамических систем с дискретным и непрерывным временем» и разрабатываемой модели, которая в будущем позволит предсказывать изменения цен. Разработка математического инструмента – очень трудоемкий процесс. В стремлении добиться точного результата, математики жульничают, признается Татьяна.
Кроме того, Татьяна также поделилась опытом проживания заграницей. Будучи студенткой второго курса, Татьяна стала стипендиатом Global UGRAD. Программа Global UGRAD предоставляет возможность студентам из разных стран мира провести один учебный семестр в колледжах и университетах США. Программа спонсируется за счет Отдела Образования и Культуры Государственного Департамента США. Стипендия полностью покрывает один семестр обучения в указанном колледже или университете США без получения диплома.
Татьяна обучалась в Университете Арканзаса (штат Арканзас). Ключевым отличием зарубежного образования является то, что студент сам выбирает предметы, которые ему необходимо освоить для получения зачета или экзамена по курсу.
Татьяна проживала в общежитии и ходила в гостевые семьи. Одним из обязательных условий прохождения обучения была волонтерская деятельность. Каждый иностранный студент должен отработать 40 часов общественных работ. В рамках волонтерской деятельности Татьяна раздавала еду в церкви, помогала в домах престарелых.
Татьяна отметила, что знания, полученные на факультете, очень ценные, важно научиться применять теорию на практике. Татьяна пожелала своим младшим товарищам хорошо учиться, развивать свои профессиональные навыки и личностные качества.
Студенты по достоинству оценили выступление Татьяны, некоторые по-настоящему заинтересовались исследовательской работой, однако большинство проявило наибольший интерес к программе образовательного обмена.
Mathematicians like Cheating
March 29, 2018 within the Project ‘Foreign Language Competence Development of TSU Students’ first-year students of the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science welcomed Tatyana Dogadova, a postgraduate student of the Institute.
The postgraduate told students about her research On Adaptive Optimal Prediction of Dynamic Systems with Discreet and Continuous Time. She is developing a model to predict changes in share price. Developing a precise mathematical tool is time-consuming. ‘Striving to get accurate results mathematicians like cheating’ admitted Tatyana.
Moreover, Tatyana shared her experience in living abroad. Being a Bachelor’s student she applied for a Global UGRAD scholarship and spend one semester at the University of Arkansas (Arkansas). The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (also known as the Global UGRAD Program) provides one semester scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students from around the world for non-degree full-time study combined with community service, professional development and cultural enrichment.
The main difference in the systems of education is that students choose subject themselves to complete the course.
Tatyana lived in the dorm and visited a few friendship families. She said that American are striving for meeting new people and studying other cultures.
International students must do 40 hours of community service. Tatyana helped homeless and retired people.
Tatyana noticed that knowledge and skills she gained at TSU are very precious. However, she recommended junior colleagues to develop their hard and soft skills and to apply theory to practice as much as possible.
Students liked the meeting. Some of them were more interested in the exchange programme while the others paid more attention to Tatyana’s research.
Stas Kononchik (1171): The part about student exchange was informative and interesting, but as much as I hate to admit it the initial part about economical theory was rather boring.
Alexandr Bulin (1171): I think it was interesting to listen to some new information about economy.
Irina Prilepova (1171): It was interesting, but I prefer if speaker would be doing presentation for us like the man that was in our class in October, I guess.
